Allie Severin has written a piece over at Fully (Sic) about a subset of young people who call their peers up on their use of grammar. That post was an extension Allie’s research into the attitudes that people (young and old) have towards the way other people use language. She’s testing David Crystal’s hypothesis that young people will have a more open attitude to language use thanks to educational reform.
If you’ re Australian and over 18 Allie needs your help! You can participate in the survey here and/or send the link to anyone you know who might be able to participate. It’s nerd positive karma!
It should only take about 10-15 minutes (or a little longer, if you decide to get your rant on!).
